Do you know of any companies in the Brampton area that sponsor new drivers by covering the licencing/training costs?
Thanks for your help.

I don’t know of any companies that will cover the cost of licensing. But if you’re unemployed or have been on EI in the last 3 years you may be able to get funding to cover the cost. Just contact your local EI office for information on upgrading skills.
Also there are some companies that will reimburse your tuition. Most of these companies will require you to sign a contract and pay you back in installments.
There are two companies I know of (Schneider National and Challenger Motor Freight) that were in the process of setting up a program so they could train new drivers for their class “AZ” license but I’m not sure if they have it in place yet.

Thanks for your info.
Sadly, I am not eligible for EI or other government help, since I have not ever been eligible for EI since I owned my own business before was not covered by EI and also have not been part of any social programs.
I will check further about Schneider and Challenger - thanks.
I did go to a seminar for SGT, and I believe that they will re-imburse part or all of the training school costs, after you are with them for one year if it is an approved training centre.

Most if not all companies will expect you to have your 'AZ' when you apply.Schneider National in the States will take someone without a CDL and train them to get it,but not here in Canada. You have to have it before hand. Most of the good training schools that offer 'AZ' courses have payment plans in place, just have to inquire.
