i dunno anything about tst.
But did u try challenger?
i thought they were always hiring

smaller companies also will usually hire new guys, i know of a couple very small companies that will take just about anyone with no experience

also helps alot if you get your FAST card and passport and you would be all set to cross the border

Well I know that Company ...I would say no don't drive for them. First at all as far I know you would drive for an O/O.
Second , expediting is total different from what you used to do. You make only Money with a good Company and when you drive Team

You make only Money with a good Company and when you drive Team

And your proof is...

That's the most assanine statement I've read in a long time. Working with a "good" company is important...of course the definition of good may be different... your good prolly isn't my good.

Now the second part of your comment Harry...Now you're gonna tell us that ALL good companies in the expediting industry ONLY hire teams OR are you gonna tell us that ALL good companies in the expediting industry ONLY treat their teams well and the singles starve a slow and painful death.

I have been working for TST Overland for 4 yr's now. We are the LTL devision.
As for the expideted service, they run hard. I don't know a lot about them, but I they do work.
Call TST Truck Load. They have a driver trainning program.

Good luck & let us know how you make out.

And your proof is...

I am an Expediter for over 12 years and can say that I know this industry very well.

That's the most assanine statement I've read in a long time. Working with a "good" company is important...of course the definition of good may be different... your good prolly isn't my good.

First at all as an Expediter Driver , you never run for an carrier, you run for an O/O or fleet Owner and that is your Company and not TST. TST like every other Expedited Carrier makes that point very clear. Now there are many O/O out there cheating on the drivers. That was my point with a " good Company "

Now the second part of your comment Harry...Now you're gonna tell us that ALL good companies in the expediting industry ONLY hire teams OR are you gonna tell us that ALL good companies in the expediting industry ONLY treat their teams well and the singles starve a slow and painful death

Expediting is different as driving an 18 Wheeler for TST Truckload,Schneider etc. It is time sensitive freight

Expediter have most of the time many miles deadhead to pick up a load and have to calculate how much it pays per mile. As an single driver you don't get long runs , because all Carrier's like to run you legal. For example: The run is only 450 miles but the deadhead to the pickup is 150 miles, you won't get this run because it will be over your legal driving time. Since Expediting is most of the time next day delivery this run will go to a team.

Some single drivers are happy on the US east coast , there are many short runs and keep the singles busy. But that doesn't say if the owner of the truck makes some money. The owner needs the truck rolling and can do that only legal with a team.

singles starve a slow and painful death.

The answer is yes, most of them do.Just go to Expediterworld and ask , or read how many singles are starving and quit. In my opinion only as an owner of the truck you can make it as a single.

All in all my statement was not against TST. Maybe as an O/O or fleet owner running for TST I would tell you a little different.

The fact is that TST Truckload or TST LTL is not TST Expediting

Harry, YOUR comments were a generalization about the industry when you made your comments about teams being the only way to go in expediting. You made a general statement...not EVERY single driver, O\O is going broke and starving on the street as YOU would have us believe. If that were the case more people than yourself would be spouting off about it. Going to expeditors.com and all the other web-sites is like sitting at the counter at the truck stop. You usually end up with some blow hole wanting to talk your ear off about his/her personal crap/issues. You have to learn to sort through the chaff to get a real understanding, not make non-sensical comments 'cause you read it/heard it somewhere.

Holly, take your non-relevant comments and post them in the knitting club forum. I had this discussion with Dave/Bookworm a while ago. If this place is to survive and grow it won't be because of your stupid and non-relevant non-sense. If you have something that is related to the topic, join in, if not knit one, pearl two, knit one, pearl two.

What's up with you Ralph?
I answered a question related to the same co. If you didn't like my response, the simple thing would be to ignore it. We won't allow you to badger on this site. So if that is what you are trying to do, go back where you came from.
If you want to try to be civil, then stay & talk about it. You are not the great one with all the know you would like everyone to believe. We all know that.
BTW, I don't knit.

TRANSFORCE bought out PORTER awhile back.

TRANSFORCE usually cleans house after a buyout , lot of people who were at HIGHLAND did not stay very long after the RED SWOOSH was added to the name.
