In our area of the country, and from what I have read on the load boards, the dry van freight has dryed up. The prices being paid on the loads are ridiculous...so we're changing what we're doing. We're hauling grain now and are very busy. When dry van freight picks up and the rates get back to the "reasonable" range, we'll haul the other stuff. Rail fuel is alot less than diesel and the shippers have decided to ship their freight on trains instead of trucks. I do think the economy will turn around, but I think it's going to get worse before it gets better. Everyone has to decide what is the best thing for them to survive.

Irmi,
you do what you have to do. Keep the trk rolling. A lot of the freight has gone to rail, but that again won't last long. Once the customer's can't get their freight on time, they will be back again. This is like a circle.

I have owned two of them, one in a 1992 KW and one in a 1996 KW. They were the best engines I ever owned for reliability and fuel mileage.I have no idea if the newer ones are any good though.

What vintage of series 60 do you have. I drove 1 of 2 2006 Stars with DDEC5 and they spent more time in the shop than on the road. They are both gone now, and they were the newest trucks in the fleet.
