- How do your become a Independent Owner Operators ?

- What are the steps in getting to be an Independent Owner Operators ?

- Is there works for Independent Owner Operators ?

-How do you get the work?

-Do you have to spend all your life working to pay for your truck ?

- Can you make money?

- How much can you make ?

- Do you need to buy a new truck ? [just thinking of maintenance]

- What would be a good price to spend on a truck for a new [B]Owner Operators if they don't want to stay up at night thinking of how they are going to pay for it?

- How much time do you have to be on the road? [ let's just say per month ]

-How much time do you get to spend with family , time for yourself?

What should a new Independent Owner Operators be thinking about before he or she buy there first truck?

-Is it as bad as they say?

-If i have misted something ,put it in .......

Thanks
David

[QUOTE=ABYSS;16344]- How do your become a Independent Owner Operators ? When you say "Independant Owner Operator" I think of an O/O that has his authority and works for himself, NOT leased to a carrier. Is this what you are thinking?

- What are the steps in getting to be an Independent Owner Operators ? Well, you would be a company driver first, then you would buy a truck and lease it to a carrier and then you would get your own authority and customers. That is the natural process.

- Is there works for Independent Owner Operators ? Always has been, always will be...the SMART will survive.

-How do you get the work? Good references, kick down doors, sell sell sell.

-Do you have to spent all your life working to pay for your truck ? Nope, if it takes more than 5 years (preferrably less) than you are leveraged too highly.

- Can you make money? People are still eating and paying their bills EVERY day doing it.

- How much can you make ? Millions

- Do you need to buy a new truck ? [just thinking of maintenance] NO

- What would be a good price to spend on a truck for a new [B]Owner Operators if they don't want to stay up at night thinking of how they are going to pay for it? That's a subjective question, some could make a $10,000 truck work, others would need an $100,000 truck!

- How much time do you have to be on the road? [ let's just say per month ] Subjective again, are you running coast to coast or in a radius of home?

-How much time do you get to spend with family , time for yourself? It's all about time management.

What should a new Independent Owner Operators be thinking about before he or she buy there first truck? Can I cash flow it if I don't have a nickle come in for the first 90 days!

-Is it as bad as they say? Is it as good as some say it is? Again subjective.

-If i have misted something ,put it in ....... Need more info as to what you are going to/wanting to do. Try expanding on your questions.

I am trying to keep the questions as subjective as i can.....
Trying to get as many different responses as i can .
So i don't get 20 of the same answers to the questions i really want what people think.

So let me know what you think and what worked for you.
