There are some company's out there that say that they can make you an owner/operator in 60 days or less !!!
They say that they will give you assistance in ...
- Writing your small business plan.
- Negotiating in the purchase or lease of a late model truck .
- Give you work.
- Work around your need so you will get the home time you want.
You can team with existing company owner/operators to learn the rope for 30 days.
Is there anyone out there that has tried this with a company ?
How was it ?
How did it work out for you ?
Did you get what they said you would get out of it ?
Are you getting the home time that they said you would get ?
Or did they make it all LOOK GOOD but in the end you got in the #%&.
I would like to post the company that i am looking at . To see if someone out there has gone with them.
But i don't know if i can. Without getting in S--T.
Or getting this post taken off.....
Thanks

Go for the interview with STAN and at the end tell him you already have your own truck and see how fast they show you the door.
The want you to go over to ARROW and buy a truck as part of this 60 DAY wonder to being an O/O.

Hell, you can be an O/O in ONE day with half ***ed credit, just go to the store and buy the truck of YOUR choice, NOT some LUMP that Arrow has on their lot.
TST Overload Express...just another carrier on the heap of countless, desperate for those that are blind enough to buy into their scheme.
And Stan DOES get a kickback on your Arrow truck purchase.

Well just as i thought ......
We all know Stan at TST Overload Express....
Well i have never met him. but it seems that all of you have....
One night out having a beer with some friends .
One of them said that he saw an add for TST Overload Express. And he told us about the ad.
So i said to him that you don't need TST to be am O/O.
Just go into any truck dealer and buy a truck now you are an O/O.
Being that he is still in school trying to get his class AZ. And the school that he is in told him about TST . I would think that they are in on the kickback as well.
I told him to be a company driver for a year or so . Before he buy a truck and becomes an O/O.Or talk to someone that is an O/O and see what they have to say.
but i have a feeling that he will go to TST and get into something that he will be sorry for.
I just wanted to get some info to what you guy thought. and if any of you have tried or know someone that has . So i could pass it on to him....
He is a nice young guy . But he has some big dream of driving the big truck and living the good life.
He doesn't listen to me .......
I am just a part time company drive.
Any advice would help.
Thanks.

Yes some of us Know STAN , others know of him . The trucking BIZ in Ontario is not all that big and you get to meet a lot of people over the years.
TST is a fairly decent operation , the schools involved are in the upper level of decent schools ( not run out of a truck parked on a side street with an ad in the back pages of the Toronto sun ).
You do not learn the ROPES so to speak of being a business owner ( Owner / Operator ) in 60 days.
For a fresh new driver the first 60 days is a basic nightmare at times just getting into the driving part let alone learning how to operate a TRUCKING operation.
Look at all the Owner Operators at HIGHLAND who were basically told by their UNION , take the rate cuts , accept the FSC ( pay pump $ when you fuel ) over the $0.48 / litre fuel cap , pay up a % on the FREE benefits you use to get and be thankful you have work. 1 article noted that " SOME ARE SO DEEP IN DEBT THEY HAVE NO CHOICE "
Not think some are rethinking the OWNER OPERATOR dream.

Stan is not their anymore his health forced him into early retirement I did the power to drive
progam a few years ago it worked for me . They bought Dana trucking for the auto parts
contract (didnt check to see if hayes dana were closing their some of their plants) so
chances are if you do it now they will offer you a kw from their new fleet . They have a
diferent dispatch team there now the people I know their say its not as good as when I
was there .I did see a few people go under too with the way the things are right now
drive someone elses truck until things pickup
