they can still be a landed immigrant or get a working visa. iI totally agree with that. Its also a safety thing. and they other thing is the liberals will then raise taxes to support these people who will then believe it is their Right to have a translator all their life funded out of my pocket because they are too proud to learn english and use any excuse to have the easy way out. Dont worry- my Girlfriend is a landed immegrant and we are working hard to improve her english so she can get her citizenship. so i feel the pain of the new comers but dont come crying to me for another bullshet handout.

what i mean is: the citizen test should be available in only french or english or even 1 bilingual version and no translators allowed!- They are too expensive for tax payers and offer an unfair advantage because they could AND WILL cheat by giving the answers. but go to court and for some reson its your right to have a tranlator or your case can be thown out of court. in the phillipeens, they have approximately 72- yes seventy two different languages and dialects! Which means now in the candian court a philipino can get away with anything due to an unfair trial

Jason Kenney is the Federal Minister of Immigration, obviously he is a Liberal. Since the Liberals are the only one's to have the testicles to broach such a sensitive topic (something that I support in theory atleast) the thought that I could vote Liberal in a Federal election would be a first for myself. While it's true that the Trudeau era Liberals are the ones that opened the immigration floodgates and have governed this country the vast majority of the years since, I am yet to nor heard in the past anything similar to this from any of the Conservative Federal Governments.

Come lets get serious you mean go to there country and tell them that you will say there prayer in school can name their god and let him be seen and heard. what do you think of this BS off allowing certain religions to wear the big thing on there head that covers everything but there eyes. only women wear them, and some judge would not allowed the women to testify in court wearing that, and she fought it and won!! Why the hell is there dumbass religion more important than our court laws???

same with turban heads fighting the hard hat or helmet laws, saying religion is more important than safety?? that is BS, either everyone follows the law, or no one, don't use religion as an excuse to get out of those laws!

Is there any time limit imposed on a landed immigrant as to whether they remain in the country as a landed immigrant and not attain citizenship? It would seem to me that there should be a time limit, if Canada is a good enough country to live in why would you not want to be a citizen and WHY would the Government not make it mandatory or ask them to leave?

well her english is very good- just her grammers a bit off. i'm actually helping her with her school work. she's taking english and math upgrading. she wanted to get into college but her math and english need work. She can stay as a landed immegrant is for however long. but she cant go the the U.S. without a visa. the people getting kicked out of the country dont even have working visas because they are to proud of their herritage. at least thats what some whiners were stating. so the candian government did them a favour and let them rejoice in their own herritage in their own contry.

as for the ladies wearing the veils and covering their face? Doesn't effect my life in any way that would cause me to give a chevy. and that seek that didn't want to wear a helmet? let him. when he gets int to a collision, he wil die and we dont have to pay taxes to keep him alive.

if the judge says remove the veil, then remove it or be faced with contempt. but why do we have helmet rules in the first place? we all know its safer. just like seatbelts. i wear mine because it makes me feel secure- not because of the potential demerit points.

Well I don't agree. I wear a helmet on my bike because I'm told too. I wear a seatbelt because I'm told too. But that's another topic for another time. I think if you're going to come to this country you learn one of our official languages. I'm sick of kissin' butt to every minority because it's PC to do it. In December I say "Merry Christmas" and I don't give a #$*% who I offend by doing it! When I walk down the sidewalk with my wife she walks beside me, not behind me! And when my kids were small I tought them the history of this country the way I wanted them to learn it. I had an argument with my kids school over the singing of O Canada. The school said they wanted to ban our National Anthem because it might offend newcomers to our country. I couldn't believe it. Why are we changing for every John, Dick, and Abdul that knocks on our door?
