I didn't think you got that much snow.
Where was this taken?
Do you have any interior shots?

Thankx

1st was taken in Armadale (between Edinburgh & Glasgow, in the central belt of Scotland). Lorry on back was going to Cardiff (South Wales)

2nd, again our yard. Tractor was going down to Workington, where it was stripped and containerised for shipping to America. We used to move lots of them, mainly John Deeres & Fords.

3rd was outside or main customers yard in Caerphilly (South Wales), their own drivers refused to go out that day because of the snow, but I made it back to Scotland that night (400 miles)

4th was back in our own yard again.

To be honest those pictures were quite a few years ago and it must be global warming cause we haven't really had snow as much these days.

How is the load secured. I'm thinking you haven't strapped it all yet.
I didn't know they were loaded like this.
Thankx for another lesson.

Around here, I'd be grounding your butt, giving you 3 days off without pay to think about it and then probably fireing you for even thinking about pulling a load that wasn't properly secured.

If you'd got out of the yard like that and got stopped, from what I can see you'd be looking at at least 15 counts of insecure load @ $350/apiece.

The front pallets which are on top of the steel beams are strapped to stop them going forward. The rest of the load is packed tight against each other. We trunk 5 nights a week, almost every load is like that.

Heavy freight gets strapped in (i.e. steel, machinery etc.) palletised and crated stuff okay as long as it is well packed.

Here's another picture (buzzy, they're strapped on this time, don't worry!)

I used to work for a company called MAT transport, here's a model truck I made while working there;

This is one of their real one's. Photo was taken under the Humber Bridge.

Our load securment has gotten very strict in the past couple of yrs.
You did a great job on that model.

Interesting about your rules on load securement. Across here we can be done for insecure loading, however if the load hasn't fallen off then a good lawyer could argue that it wasn't insecure.

I know a case many years ago that made the papers, 2 cops stopped truck on the motorway and charged the driver with insecure load. Nothing had moved, load was carried same way week after week and lawyer argued that as the driver moved the load on a regular basis then he was more experienced than the cops that stopped. Result :- case dismissed!

That's great. Here they would find something to charge the driver with.
