I have new steering tires. My steering wheel shakes while hard breaking.
What could be wrong?

tire out of balance? worn brake shoe? Or you're just scaring it by slamming on the skidders.
Why are you hard braking? Seems like driver in-attention is partly to blame.

Does the pedal surge when you apply the brakes, if so, Bookworm is right.

Pedal surge? With air brakes?
Bookworm is right, but Buzzy may also have a point about the reason for hard braking. I personally only brake hard during tourist season, or occasionally as a test if I am all alone.
In these days of monstrous engine braking power, to my way of thinking, wheel brakes are for urban driving, for tourist season - to keep from killing the precious buggers when they screw up - or to cover (very lightly) for misjudgements on the highway. Anything more is wasteful and otherwise irresponsible.

i wish all new trucks had engine brakes mandatory, i much prefer using the engine brake over service brakes, but not all trucks i drive even have engine brakes!
alot of the smaller 300 hp engines in dumptrucks and mixers do not have engine brakes.
