looking for someone passing through new baltimore michigan headed to toronto? I need a car chassis picked up in a rural area. Willing to pay $100US. The chassis is 16' long about 5' wide, a flatbed would be ideal. Just thought i would ask if someone was headed home with an empty load or space on their rig for such an item. I'm not asking for anyone to go out of their way, I know how busy you truckers are. As for customs, i contacted them and they said all I would need is a paypal invoice to prove how much I paid for the chassis, and that taxes on that amount would have to be paid. The chassis cost me $150 so I really do not want to pay $$$$$$ in shipping costs. If someone is willing to help me out, please PM

thanks

sorry, but i'm not trying to offend anyone. If I were a driver headed home with an empty load I would do it for anyone and take the money and buy beer or smokes LOL.... I'm not asking anyone to go out of their way. Sorry again. What should I offer then?

its still going to take a driver alot of time, at least an hour or more to load and secure, probly 1-2 hours to get through canada customs and another hour to deliver, so its at least 3-4 hours work, plus any driving which could be out of the way for pickup or delivery.

and company drivers are not supposed to haul things like that on their own without the carrier approving it.

an O/O might do it, but still $100 is hardly worth it when it will take at least 4 hours of extra time.

What should I offer then?First of all, drivers cannot pick up freight without the consent of the carrier they work for and under who's operating authority and insurance the truck is registered.
Even O/O's cannot do it unless they have an agreement with their carrier.

Independent O/O's will and can but you're going to be charged based on 16ft of trailer which I can tell you right off the top is going to be much more than $100.

You're looking at a bare minimum of $400-$500 U.S. C.O.D. plus whatever their fuel surcharge is and that itself is a very low ball figure based on some desperate O/O or fly by night carrier taking it.
