Has anyone ever had any success with the "run a flag up the pole and see who salutes" approach? I'm still thinking getting out and knocking on doors is my best bet.

I am OLD school so knocking on doors with a resume in hand would seem the way to do it if I was in that mode. As I have done for other members here I will PM you oppourtunities in your area.

that driverlink website does work, i used to get calls wanting me to come for interview from maybe 3 or 4 carriers, i never went to any, since i was not looking for a job at the time.

but i did get calls!

I was leary of two things: A company that didn't care about much except you had a pulse and a license, and a company that was always hiring and wasn't the size of Challenger. The big companies will inevitably have turnover, but when it is a small operation, that tells you a lot.

Yeah, I get a daily search email from driverlink. Usually contains 3 or 4 ads from different companies and the same 6 or more from Sunbury. I've applied to a few but no calls for interviews.

Dave,

You have to do what I call "scatter bombing"! Go to the OTA site and find the member site. Start at the "A's" and go all the way through! Send resumes to all of them whether they are hiring or not! You'll be surprised at what happens!!
