Windows Vista vs 7

I have an opportunity to purchase a laptop at a real good price. It has Vista OS. Should I go with Vista or purchase another 'puter loaded with the new windows 7 O/S?

When I bought mine it came w/Vista which I refused. By proving to them I had a copy of Windows 98 in my exixting laptop they removed Vista and loaded Windows 98 for $20.00. I think they got the bugs worked out of Vista but I would be cautious about it also.

I have a new puter with vista. It works very well. I guess it all depend what you are doing with it. The tech told me that they have worked out the issues with vista, but the new Windows 7 is a much cleaner and easier with less hard drive space.

I recently watched a consumer report comparing Vista and 7. The 7 opened and shut down a little fast, and opened programs faster, but the differences were not that significant. The average consumer wouldn't notice a difference.
