What I know about Roll Off is the hours can be long and the trucks mostly appear dirty
....Now...what do you know about it and can you recommend it as a good local job.

can't be that bad if it pays good and has fairly good hours.

there is always garbage to haul

One thing that would concern me about doing trash in rolloffs is that you NEVER know what it weighs. If you are doing construction site cleanup or building remediation you will have everything in the dumpster...Most of those guys make decent coin (over $20.00) and the hours won't be much before 7am as sites and the dumps don't open before then. Lot's of downtown work I am sure...if you get the job keep you rails greased, it could be the difference between getting a bin off/on and not. ALWAYS keep a good eye on your cable! They don't just drop to the ground when they snap.

Good luck!

Can't recommend it as I have never done it...but I would. Nice local job, pay over 20 bucks usually from what I have seen. Probably not all that stressful a job once you get the hang of it.

Hell of a lot better pay than OTR. You get paid for every hour you work and overtime also.

Other than the hook and cable in the front of the bin what prevents the bin from flipping off sideways once it's on the rails?

the rolloffs i have ran, had a locking system at the front and rear of the rails.
but it was a homebuilt system and had a lock bar you had to remove from the rear before sliding off the bin.

but commerical ones must have some kind of locks front and rear as well.
