EDMONTON, Alta. -- Raydan Manufacturing has placed its Ontario operations into receivership.

The company announced Raydan Ontario will cease operations as of today.

This is a big deal down this way. Raydan purchased Delta Spring in Breslau/Kitchener a number of years ago. Delta owned Sturdy truck bodies and they were a distributor for snow plows, Hiab cranes and a large vendor/installer of PTO/wetline kits.

About 2 years ago Raydan bought/moved into the former Tiger Lease/Ryder building in Petersburg, Ontario. I am not sure what they did at that facility.

Lots of long term employees around Delta Spring. Of course the mechanics/staff now have to prove to PWC that what they want to take out of the buildings is actually their's and not part of the receivership.

Raydan used to be a successful oilfield trucking company that Bill English started and passed on to his sons Ray and Dan. They sold the trucking part to a Mullen Spin-off and went into suspension manufacturing. So Ontario shuts down which means that Mexico will now be doing all the manufacturing.

What was the name of the company that Mullen bought?

I don't think that there was any suspension manufacturing being done in Ontario, just the truck bodies and wheelbase change @ the Petersburg facility. The Breslau facility has a fire last summer, it closed that shop down for a couple of months.

Raydan Transport Ltd. business was aquired by Withers which is part of the HNL (Horizon North Logistics) group that is controlled by Mullen's.

Formula, Withers, Swanberg, and a whole bunch of others.
