View Full Version : Diesel prices drop 3.3 cents to $3.094

For the first time in many weeks, the U.S. Energy Information Administration is reporting that diesel fuel prices have dropped 3.3 cents to average $3.094 per gallon on Monday, May 17.
This is the first significant drop in 16 weeks, according to the EIA. A week ago, the national average price for diesel had spiked to its highest level in more than 18 months at $3.127 per gallon.
A year ago this same week, diesel was selling for around 86.3 cents less per gallon at $2.231.
This week all nine regions of the country are reporting decreases at the pump. The California region is again reporting the highest prices for diesel at $3.238, despite a 3.1-cent price drop from a week ago. The Gulf Coast region, which is posting a 4.4-cent drop from the previous week, is again reporting the lowest fuel prices of all the regional averages at $3.043 per gallon,
