At the 2010 Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville , Carrier Transicold unveiled the Vector® 6600MT multi-temperature trailer refrigeration unit, successor to Carrier's original hybrid unit, the popular Vector 1800MT, which Carrier introduced to North America in 2006.

Just as the Vector 1800MT was considered break-through technology, the next-generation Vector 6600MT offers additional significant gains, as media and attendees of the Mid-America Trucking Show discovered.

"If you liked the Vector 1800MT, you're going to love the Vector 6600MT," said David Kiefer, director of Marketing and Product Management for Carrier Transicold.

"The Vector 6600MT stands alone as the industry's most powerful multi-temp unit. It's more fuel efficient than its predecessor and yet it offers significantly more cooling capacity - on diesel or electric standby - than any other multi-temp unit from either Carrier or the competition" says Kiefer.

Supermarkets, dairies, food service distribution operations and other multi-temp haulers, stand to gain significant financial benefits by taking advantage of the Vector 6600MT. The last couple of months I have been pulling reefers for the first time since the 80's. I am severely impressed at how miserly the newer units I have used are, as compared with the ones I ran when dinosaurs walked the earth.
