In 2005, Wal-Mart closed a store in Jonquiere, Que., days before an arbitrator imposed a contract for its employees. The employees took Wal-Mart to court over the closure but lost their case.
In 2008, Wal-Mart also closed a tire shop on Maloney Boulevard in Gatineau after its employees received union certification.

Wow....after 5 years the union gets them a whopping 30 cent raise!!I'm impressed! LOL
In the parking lot outside the store, Denise Barre said she and her coworkers are disappointed with a 30-cent-an-hour raise, especially when it means paying union dues.
She said only 13 of the 150 employees went to Wednesday night's meeting with the union, which she says shows employees aren't interested.
Barre said she doesn't need this contract.
She said Wal-Mart treats her well and gives her benefits.

Monsieur liner is intentionally misleading, one might even say intentionally trying to deceive with his misrepresentation of the story.
He forgot to mention the additional pay raise negotiated for next year or the grievance process which recognizes statutory holidays and considers seniority in determining working hours.
Of course Monsieur liner also fails to mention that it was unlikely those employees would have had any pay raise whatsoever without having a strong union to help negotiate on their behalf.

Oh well....none of those things will really matter much after they're all unemployed because Wal-Mart closed the store.

Yea. Its unfortunate that Wal-Mart uses these tactics to keep the wealth for themselves rather than passing it on to their employees who, by and large, make the money for the company.....

You will have to ask him next time your speaking to him,but I don't believe he needs an "escape plan" since your organizing efforts were a bust!

More of Challenger's propaganda Monsieur liner.
I remember in 95 or around that area, union talks were going on in Cambridge, rumor was that it was coming from Dorval.
We actually knew that it was coming from a few guys who were pizzed on the Janesville run.
Monsieur challenger of course sent his brother dave to dorval.
I still remember monsieur dave storming into Dorval office, screaming to everybody there how they were going to close down Dorval IF he heard anything from union again then he stormed out of the place jump in his car and go.
We didnt have a clue, dispatch at the time said, "dont worry about him, he'll be back, he's been doing that all morning, he's trying to scare everybody off'".
Out of curiosity, a few of us waited a while and fair enough, he came back and stormed again throwing his theatral fit again LOL.
It was pretty funny to see him make a fool of himself like that LOL. He didnt know we were waiting for his next "performance".
