ABF has other thoughts about this! While I struggle with the CAW's position on opening up contract negotiations this is what happens/may happen if the contracts are re-negotiated.

ABF Freight System has filed a lawsuit in Arkansas against both YRC (and its carrier subsidiaries New Penn Motor Express and USF Holland) and the Teamsters for $750 million.

I suppose ABF's argument could have some validity...the Teamsters keep dropping their pants to save their jobs and YRC could continue to drop their pricing to get market share. Pipeman, is this acceptable/legal under a "master" agreement?

But it's OK to gut your teamster brothers by working for LESS than the MASTER agreement. You union guys are like a former Canadian PM...you speak from either side of your mouth depending upon the situation.

The jobs wouldn't be lost. YRC would fold, start up again with their debt disolved or put on hold and yes some card holding brothers might become unemployed. Still a better plan than de-nutting your union brothers.

You say jobs wouldn't be lost... Hum go talk with ex Consolidated Freight drivers see what they think about-it!!! Some time a not so perfect agreement is better then no agreement at all!!!
Anyway those decision are made in a democratic manner an voted by the peoples that are present to the meeeting. Anyone else who work there an want to criticise decision an was not present at the meeting saying that it was not important should shut-up. You want to criticise then be present. An for all of us who don't work there an do not participate to the negotiation , we should may be see both side of the medal before criticise an saying that is all for nothing those negotiation.

When both parties sitting at table an negotiate in good faith; there's always a possibility to reach an agreement that will satisfy both.

I understand that both the Teamsters and YRC have agreed to the cuts but what about the "Master Agreement" that is the agreement between ALL the teamster ltl carriers and their teamster employees. By allowing YRC to continually cut wages it is giving them an unfair advantage against the other teamster carriers. ABF went along quietly with the first two cuts BUT to them enough was enough! Is it right to gut your teamster brother because your employer isn't financially stable? You seem to believe it is.
