How to prevent jack knifing:
- keep your fifth wheel freshly greased
- back off a bit, so as to not over drive the conditions
- don't over react to developments in the traffic as they happen
Remember you are never late when you arrive safely with your load intact, because you got there when the truck did. You are the person in charge during the transit, you are the judge and jury as to safe conduct!
( If the load was needed sooner, it shoould have been ordered and/or prepared sooner)
Currently there is a lot of freezing rain in our area, which is justification to park in a safe place, get some food and bunk hours on the log. I have never found a set of big truck skates, which would be too expensive for the tri, quadaxles, and super B-trains, etc.
