If stay with deck am thinking trying deckx. they have a terminal here in wpg so been told no problem to get home. they pay for loading unloading and tarping and untarping. no first one free. Was thinking about trying van.have two choices one is transx. other one is yankee.not enough experience to go to bision and been told they slip seat truck when i home.not like the idea of someone useing my stuff and than have problem if something going missing. Anybody worked for yankee or transx. all wondering is home time as that is my biggest problem now. think going to fill out app for both
so they can do checking needed to see if will offer me a job.

I talked with Andy from Deckx and he was great with me. I had alot of questions that he answered and he was really straight forward. Give him a call.

Look @ Deck X's over dimensional rates...only an incompetent BOOB would work for rates like that. Andy Trybell has been sending me e-mails for years and even with the insults I send him in return about his poor pay he continues to TRY to get me to work there.

Want a BIGGER laugh...look at their layover pay.....if someone broke their layover pay out on a WEEKLY basis....I would be very concerned.

MUCH better jobs than working for the Transexual Group in Winnipeg!

So ralph...who do you work for or where?

With an attitude like yours i'm not sure anybody would want you on their payroll. :wtf:

Sorry that you have such a low opinion of TransX Ralph but then I only worked there for almost 3 years.

In the whole year i have been at can am i have never done an oversize load. that goes to the drivers who are the favorites. In comparing what i have now and what they offering.they pay basically the same milage rate.were transx is different is they pay for loading and unloading they pay for put tarp on and off..which means that i get some money to offset time spent doing the work.
So my income should be same or beter.layover is different as they pay after second night.mine was after 24 hrs.I only got twice as each time siad my fault for not getting unloaded,so not a big deal in my book

I would hope that any of that could be dealt with on a case by case the thing i like is get paid for more of what do and because a big compony if need a short trip to finish out a week they can do that.If bookworm did not have good feeling about co would not recomend it. will go and see tommorow as be at yard.not a far drive to go talk to them.

Well lets see now - TransX pulls boxes, (dry van or reefer), so we never had to worry about OD loads.

I think your other complaint was layover pay --- I was laid over for 4 days at Coutts/Sweetgrass because of a paper foul up and I received $500.00 for a 4 day layover. If you would like I can go back in my records and show you the paystub.

Dave

That's $125.00 a day. That's what I pay my drivers for Subsistence per day and they get to use the sleeper instead of a hotel room. Actually, up north, they split the cost about 4 or 5 ways and use the shower and sleep in the truck.

deckx has just raised it rates.they pay you every time you put on or take off tarp.pay you for every stop including the first pick up same whendrop off. layover is hotel room or 50 which increases with hours laid over to a max of 750. sounds good to me as they pay some for most of the stuff you do in a day so should be able to make some money.not sure what going to do as no load yet.I had to deliver my load my truck would not start at pete.went back to yard started a truck there hooked on to trailer.started to go to del truck started to gel.made back to yard with load. took truck to kenworth so they could change filter.picked up my truck delivered load no gelling as i had full tanks.made 30 bucks for 8 hours. with deckx would be97.00. using the rate sheet they gave me

$97.00 divided by 8 = $12.13 per hour. Hope you do better than that. Tim Horton's in Fort MacMurray pasy $15.00

I would assume that if my truck would have started at transx would have given me another one or had some one else deliver load.I seen on sheet after i posted they pay 17.00 by hour for pick or drops with in 85 miles of terminal.I just used the drop and pick fee to compare what i had just did.milage is only a penny sonot much diff. You not make 50 thousand working at timmies If did lots want job. Here is wpg I was the only driver to do job, there is no city driver although i talked to manager and sugested that they get a tracter service set up so that if no driver to deliver or pick upload have something set up beforehand. I forgot to ask about benifits so will have to phone and ask.I have good benifits here so have to check them out anyplace i want to go.my lights are still working on trailer so must have got fixed.well off to see if truck starts got to go get a trailer in portage tow truck comming for tracter.one dumb move by driver and cost compony money.I can see were the compony going to say all trucks to yard,as this is the third time i have had to go get a unit from were driver left it.

I had a talk with my fleet manager and am going to stay for awhile they are going to try and work home time into the runs give me. Alot of the drivers live in the truck so hometime not a big issue,it is hard to remember who does and does not want home time. Will advise dispatch before i finish my current trip if i want to be home on next one.than they can plan better. will try i got nothing to lose. at least i not like a driver today,he has been home for a week, was supose to leave wpg this morning.never showed up.would not answer phone so i am guessing he fired.I now see a little what the fleet manager has to deal with on a daily basis.so will work to be more helpful to the best I can
