The number of times my pars failed and other peoples too makes you wonder if that is a make work project for customs employees that don't want to be sent home early with short pay! I remember being told at Queenston and Ft. Erie that they never got it. Being the argumentative type I proceeded to agrue about the contents of the fax only to have the person go over to the waste basket and retrieve the paper! Then the insinuations and inuendos really stated! But the time I had an item in an LTL load of 4 skids of electronic vibrating condoms from the Orient going to Trawnna in time for the CNE, they pretended not to know or care, just wanted me out of there with my wicked humour!!!!!Now that is one load that should have been sent to secondary inspection! Ha ha ha

You are aware that if the broker has to process the load clearance manually while you wait in person, they get to charge more for the transaction! At Ft. Erie and other ports Canada Customs has warned Livingstoned or stunned that they had better start doing the proper preprocessning and presentations to Canada Customs in advance or they were in line for a big fine. They smartened up for a while! That was the office in which the paperwork was dug out of the wastebasket!!!

Livingston is the worst broker around. I have never seen a company who hires more idiots then they do. They don't care about customer service. I used to call the customer & tell them that we had trouble @ the border 7 that they were going to have extra broker charges. They would ask me why & I told them what they do @ Livingston's. They would freak & then get on with Livingston. This helped for a few customer's, not all.
They have been fined over & over again, but they still don't care.

I don't care where I cross now. Going into the states on a "Paps" I get confirmation numbers or I won't go to the border.
Coming home on "PARS" I call and get the entry number.

As soon as I have them I punch them into my quaalcom system. THEN, if I get detained at the border, my company has their proof, I have mine and I get $20/hour until they sort it out.

And through all this the clock is ticking.....after 14hrs I go to bed and the load gets there just after I do.
