I have learned that things do get easier with time on the job.I have more than a few times wanted to quit and move componys. each time i have worked out my problem at the time and stayed. when i started my performance was poor but with time i have improved.I am trying to work with the fleet manager instead of against. I found that by keeping track of my miles driven i can budget easier as time off can effect how much i make we get paid every two weeks the cut off is the same every month. When i started i never did this so never had any idea how much i had comming to me.If i do not no one els will.

the hard part of this job is each of us have to find what works for us.what works for me might not work for the next guy.

Now, when you learn
1) there isn't a load ANYWHERE worth risking your life over
2) dispatchers dispatch but drivers are the captains of the ship
3) and the labour code says:

You can't refuse a load because of weather, HOWEVER.....after you hook to it and pull it out on to the street, YOU can decide the roads are a safety hazard and then you can park it.

Speed safe, tm. You're learnin'.

The one i have used and it works is "NO JOB HAS PRIORITY OVER SAFETY" & remember you have to be comfortable with everything you do.
