After a fruitless search of the Net for Brake Check Names and Locations in BC, I called the Kamloops E/B scale and was told there is no list of brake check locations and names. They just know were there are and check to see if you noted a brake check flag or stop in that area. Go figure.

when i was running BC i would make note on my log book of the town and direction closest
to the brake check. also mark down the odometer reading at each brake check. sure made for a full log page when westbound

In that case it would be prudent to note in your log flag the Km marker, ie. mile marker! approximately. The first time I saw one was North of Drumheller W/B at the Red Deer River ravine and did not know what the significance was until told later that if an RCMP had seen me blow by it it would have cost me $500.xx.. I don't believe we have any in Ont. but there should be one at Thibideau Hill S/B just North of North Bay!
I blew by one that was occupied by a "Full Grown" doing an inspection on a straight truck on US 22 West of Johnstown before Pittsburg. I called him on the CB and told him that I had just done a check earlier and set them up plus I am empty. I don't think he heard me! This route is closed to loaded rigs now I hear. There should be one on I-81 S/B in Va at mile 08 before you run down Fancy Gap! More than one set of brake shoes have been smoked on that one by the time you reach the rest Area entry point into N.Carolina!
The brain trust in Queens Park did away with our training, certification, and endorsements for brake adjustment 2 years ago. "You are supposed to get a mechanic out to do it for you"!!! Like that is going to happen, when so many companies are so tight on maintainance budgets already!! If I was still driving I would still do my own but in the most unobvious place I could find like the back row in a truck stop or rest area when I thought no one was watching!! I would rather have my brakes set up correct and pay a fine for doing it myself than not and have an accident!!!

Exactly my thinking too, i don't care if I am not legally allowed to adjust brakes! If they need adjusted and theres no mecanics around, i will do it myself! Better to pay a fine for illegal adjustment, then to get a fine for out of adjustment brakes or to crash cuz i was too lazy to adjust them

A word to the wise regarding adjusting your own slacks, get trained to do it properly if you are not experienced. Get a senior mechanic or supervisor that is articulate and willing to get under there and show you what to do and what not to, plus what can go wrong as well as all the various types you may run into. Automatics have to be kept properly greased for them to work, so don't trust that they are in order, check them! I kept an old pair of coveralls and parka for the nasty conditions!
I used to plan ahead, like I know it is going to start raining soon, so I will do it now on the dry pavement at this rest stop not later when It is soaking wet and dripping on me.

Here is something to think about, an out of adjustment auto slack adjuster is "defective" yes, you can adjust it, but after as few as two applications it can be out of acceptable range again.
Be very careful, if its out of adjustment it needs repair....

And maybe remind those that have to take whiz to at least head for the ditch instead of standing beside their tractor.

Stupid is as stupid does! The best answer is get a large Tide Laundry Soap Jug. It doesn't leak, it is rinseable and reuseable! It also doesn't fall over if placed in the right place! Two of my former
public schoolmates have died behind their bullwagons for this problem, well one rolled his rig into a prairie slough, but the other was nailed to the back of the wagon by a druken 4wheeler in the dark!
