Hello from Germany and thank you for your warm welcome so strait away :)
Hope, you all out there will forgive my "school-english" in the messages - grin.
Carola, still in Germany, and for sure not as young as anybody might think ;)

Hello, and welcome as well from Oshawa. Don't be worrying about your English, grammar, and spelling as some of us have not gone that far in school ourselves or have forgotten much of what we were taught! Just so you understand how young Western Canada is, my Scottish Grandfather, who was born in Ontario, and was sent with his next youngest brother to live in Baden, Ont. to live with 2 maiden Aunts so they could go to school. They learned to read and write both Low and High German because it was a Menonite/Amish community, but spoke the Scots Erse on the homestead amongst family! Both later emigrated to Western Canada to homestead and Grandfather years later became elected a member of the school board and eventually was elected chairman but he could hardly read an English newspaper although he spoke it quite well! Much of that land out there has only been settled 100 years + or - ! There are many languages spoken here and numerous people I have met are fluent in 5 or 6 or more! There are areas in the USA that are very similar, too. You will be amazed at how many people are fluent in European languages over here.
