MITCHELL - A theft of fuel from a gas station in Listowel led Perth County OPP to a residence in Mitchell's west end where police arrested three males Tuesday during a response that included camouflaged officers and a canine unit.
An eyewitness estimated about 20 police vehicles, including unmarked cruisers, converged on the area on Hwy. 8 across from the Mitchell Country Depot.
"It would appear to be something serious," said owner/manager Doug Eidt.
One police officer was stationed behind bags of mulch at the business with a rifle trained on a buff brick house on the other side of the highway.
Police closed off the highway during what evolved into a search for two men who fled the scene. The highway remained closed well into the afternoon and the house was still under containment after the two suspects were caught.

Looks like they take the theft of gas quiet serious in Mitchell.
