Police in Cambridge didn’t have to go far to investigate what they’re calling a targeted attack after a car drove through the front doors at their headquarters on Maple Grove Road early Sunday morning.

It drove into the lobby, coming to a stop between a wall and a vending machine beside the finger-print waiting area.

Well at least the dummy didn't have far to go to get his prints taken.

I must confess, I have been sorely tempted to give the scale in Lima, MT, the same treatment.

I see a budget request in the Cambridge Police Department's future.

I take it you had an inspection there go not so well. Care to share?

Chief Torigian and his minions have a FAT enough budget, please don't give them any ideas.

An Alberta-headquartered carrier I was leased to had a very poor record on all accounts (I wasn't aware and didn't do enough due diligence). Their U.S. operations were domiciled in MT and so we used to get the rubber-glove treatment at all MT scales, but especially so at the Lima scale (personally, I think a trucker slept with the scalemaster's dog). Out of about a dozen inspections in a two-year period, the only violations I got were on one mostly bogus inspection at Lima... he noted a speed violation in CA based on postal-code-to-postal-code (based on the closest municipalities noted in the remarks on my log for the duty-status changes), but not the actual address-to-address which was considerably shorter. From that point on I mostly by-passed all the MT scales.
