Hi there,

I stumbled upon this site, and find it quite informative.

I do have a question: This will come later ;)

First my situation: I am a new O/O, located in Ontario. I plan to go to Ottawa, and back, so Ontario/Quebec. I have a broker/logistics co that I will haul for.
I have a CVOR, cargo insurance, liability, and physical, and a truck ofcourse.

Question: Do I need anything else to haul to Quebec. I cannot find anything really concrete in my searches. Other than US carriers looking to travel in Ontario, etc.

What do I need on top of what I have?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Make sure your T's are crossed and I's dotted when in Quebec and take the spring half load season into consideration, thats all I got for you, I hauled there a few years without much problems. Except when they say half load they mean with all the axles on the ground Ha Ha Ha. Opps

Thank you Marmaduke,

So I am good to go? I am running under my own plates.
Is a CVOR basically my own Authority?
So I need something from the province of Quebec to enter, and run legally there while delivering? or picking up to take back on Ontario?

I saw something about National safety code cert? I think that is something US based crossing over to Canada, etc.

Remember that in Quebec you don't register by weight but rather by the MAXIMUM number of axles you will ever have while in Quebec. Quebec doesn't care if you are loaded or MT, if you pull an MT set of joints you better have an 0008 on your cab card or they will bust you!
