Very seldom if ever now; do I see COE on the road. But at the local International dealership this year I did see what I beleive was a double bunk International 9800 COE 2007 - 2009 ? had a flat floor and walk in bunk. I thought these were only built in south Africa.:asking:

I'm a 34 years old guy from Finland and I have european CE-lincence (equals A licence in USA and Canada). I have alltogether 3 years of truck experience with lorriers (not tractor-trailer) as I got my CE-licence at May 2010. I have driven in Finland, Sweden, Germany and Austria.

I have been an o/o for 2 years and done mostly sales jobs during my work history. Earlier, when it was still legal with C-licence, I drove quite a lot of empty combinations (truck and so called full trailer). I have clear criminal record and driving record.

The more I have been thinking of this, the more certain I am that trucking is in my blood. The only moment I feel alive is while driving. That's the thing I want to do. Driving in Europe doesn't feel good due a lot of reasons.

I would like to drive in Canada and USA. What do you think, do I have any chances to get employed with my background. As you might guess, I have strong motivation and I'm quick learner. I have a good job here, but it's not driving and I cannot fool myself to like this or any other non-driving job anymore.

Thank you for all the tips and suggestions you think might be of any help!

So this week I talked to a company that does odd work (ie: hauling gravel, snow, low bed, etc) and they need someone on call with widely changing days and hours.
So how do I do my log book if I have a day where I drive for both companies? Each company wants the white copy.

Howdy all!

My wife and I are getting ready to quit our current jobs (I'm a hotel GM and she's my assistant) and go into class 1 training, our goal is to do some very long hauls as a team. We're both around 40 and I have experience as a taxi driver, 24 pax buses and I'm also a licence aircraft pilot.

In Quebec, due to insurance policies, we have to take a goverment approuved course which last around 5 months.

We have studied different aspects of the industry in Quebec with the french version of this blog but we wounder, since we are not attached at all to this province, if it is better to move to another area to take the course.

So to make a long question short, where in Canada is the training cheaper/faster(or even paid by the employer) and where the jobs for long haul are the most interesting.

I'll appreciate any feedback, thanks in advance!
